The NICA have continued their support of local clubs and schools by providing the UKCC Level 1 course at Campbell College Belfast during the month of March. Led by Andy McCrea and Ian Johnson the course comprised of core coaching skills for the cricket coaching assistants qualification, skills such as organisation of small sided games, safety whilst coaching etc.
Participants on the three day course were :

- Gareth Boyd and Richard Greer (Templepatrick CC)
- Neale Matthews (Waringstown CC)
- Graham Higgin (Instonians CC)
- Denver Pearson (Laurelvale)
- Andrew McCulloch (Muckamore CC)
- Michael Ferguson (CIYMS)
- Greg Thompson (Lisburn CC)
A further Level 1 course is being held currently at Bready CC for the North West region under the leadership of Bobby Rao. A UKCC Level 2 course has also been organised for the Belfast region in July with a reserve list currently operating as spaces have been filled.
It is hoped that all qualified coaches throughout N.Ireland can become actively involved during this forthcoming summer aiding the continuous development of our sport.
