At a special ceremony at Stormont the NCU recognised the record breaking performances of Ireland internationals Kyle McCallan and Andrew White.

Both players are involved in Ireland’s squad for the World Cup Qualifying Tournament in South Africa starting next month and will be expecting to extend their number of Ireland caps.

Kyle McCallan is the leading capped Ireland player with 205 caps. Only retired Internationals Peter Gillespie (124 caps) and Alan Lewis (121 caps) have earned more caps than Andrew White who currently has 120.

The outgoing Cricket Ireland President John Caldwell, who was also  President of the NCU in 2003-4, presented special cut glass mementos to  Kyle and Andrew.

The NCU also acknowledged the outstanding commitment of past officers of the Union who had been elected as Honorary Life Members.

Specially commissioned framed  certificates were presented by NCU President Ian Gourley to Alfie Linehan,  Cecil Walker, Hubert Cranston,  Jimmy Boyce, Peter McMorran (in memory of his father Jim McMorran ), John Law, Ivan Anderson and Peter Lunney.
