Cricket Ireland/Coaching Ireland “Introductory Course” for Cricket Coaching
The Coaching Committee of the Leinster Cricket Union will be running an ‘Introduction to Coaching Course’ this coming Autumn.
The course will run over two days during the school mid term break (Oct 30th & 31st) at North County Cricket Club from 10 - 4pm. In addition to the basic techniques of the game (batting, bowling, fielding and wicketkeeping), the course introduces such topics as the role of the coach, safety, the laws of cricket, communication skills, scoring, umpiring, coaching philosophies, code of ethics and much more.
- Course Aim: To enable young leaders (16-18 year olds) to help introduce cricket to primary school age children by giving them basic cricket skills and an ability to organise fun game activities related to cricket.
- Target Audience: Students (Age 16-18) with a good cricket playing knowledge.
- Course Duration: 10 hours cricket skills and games – delivered in a 2x5 hour period.

- Cost: Eur 50. Cheques made payable to ‘Leinster Cricket Union’

Candidates should be committed to the development of youth cricket in their club or school. While cricket playing experience would be an advantage, communication and organisational skills are at least as important.

Course Cost: Eur 50. This will include all course materials and lunch on both days of the course. A place on the course will only be offered on receipt of full payment.
